November 3 - Great Lakes Region Expecting Record Cruise Growth in 2026

The Great Lakes region is anticipating a record-breaking cruise season in 2026, with nearly 175,000 passenger visits and an economic impact projected to exceed $300 million - a 25% increase over 2025. Seven cruise lines, including newcomer American Cruise Lines, will operate 10 ships across more than 800 port visits, underscoring growing interest in the region’s distinctive freshwater cruising experiences.

The forecast was released by GSGP’s Cruise the Great Lakes program during an event in Green Bay, Wisconsin, alongside Governor Tony Evers, highlighting the program’s leadership in promoting sustainable tourism and regional economic development.
