Governors and Premiers Adopt New Maritime Resolution
The region’s Governors and Premiers recently gathered in Québec City for their biennial Leadership Summit. The Summit’s focus on a regional Agenda for Growth, led by the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers (GSGP), included major announcements aimed at growing the region’s $9.3 trillion (US) economy, including a new resolution on continuing collaboration to develop the Great Lakes St. Lawrence River Maritime System.
This resolution affirms the Governors’ and Premiers’ shared commitment to fulfilling the goals of GSGP's maritime strategy, and outlines priorities for future work. These priorities include supporting infrastructure development; advancing innovative technologies, fuels, and shipbuilding; and, developing new market opportunities.
