Keeping Up the Fight Against the "Least Wanted" Aquatic Invaders

The Governors’ and Premiers’ “least wanted” list continues to protect our region against high-risk aquatic invasive species. In recent months, Minnesota, Ohio and Ontario have taken action against several invasives that threaten the region, including water soldier, yellow floating heart, tench, golden mussel and marbled crayfish. Prohibiting the least wanted AIS protects the region’s environment, economy, natural resources and outdoor recreation. Collectively, the states and provinces have taken more than 60 separate actions against these high-risk species since the least wanted list was created in 2013.
