Great Lakes Compact Symposium Celebrates 15 Years of Regional Cooperation

The Great Lakes Compact Symposium on December 8, 2023, marked 15 years since the Compact became law. The University of Michigan, in collaboration with the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Compact Council, hosted this event with panels discussing the past, present and future of the Great Lakes. Also in December, the Compact Council and Regional Body met in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The groups elected New York Governor Hochul to serve as the Chair and Illinois Governor Pritzker to serve as Vice Chair. The next meetings of the Regional Body and Compact Council are tentatively scheduled to take place on June 13 in Buffalo, New York. Additional details will be provided on the Regional Body and Compact Council websites in advance of the meeting.
