Conference of Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers Applauds Brandon Road Agreement

The States of Illinois and Michigan have reached an agreement with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to cosponsor the construction of the Brandon Road Interbasin Project.  This critical project will help prevent invasive carp and other invasive species from entering the Great Lakes.

David Naftzger, Executive Director of the Conference of Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers, said, “I applaud the States of Illinois and Michigan and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for reaching this historic agreement. This agreement is the result of a lot of hard work by many people—work that must continue until we have effective barriers in the water to prevent invasive carp from entering the Great Lakes.”
